Buy Used Ford Models

The Lincoln Motor Company, as Ford’s official luxury car division, covers the production of most of Ford’s luxury cars in the USA. There are, however, also a handful of bona fide upmarket vehicles made by Ford itself, coming with comprehensive equipment levels and offered for sale as top-end models that identify Ford as a luxury car brand. The premium car class is characterized by first-rate quality, the utmost in comfort and convenience, and the pricing to match. It also encompasses a considerable range of vehicle types, from purposed sports cars to more regular everyday commuters.

In our in-depth buyers guide, we conveniently categorize the relevant upscale Blue Oval-badged autos and detail every facet and everything in between. We also always have images and video reviews for those we evaluate and test drive.

List of Ford’s Best Luxury Cars

Our roster of the best Ford luxury cars includes the following:

  • Explorer - The automaker’s top-selling SUV is its midsize three-row family cruiser. It’s a well-rounded offer that provides comfort for all occupants. The lineup features two powertrain options, a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine or 3.0L twin-turbocharged V6, both of which are coupled to a ten-speed automatic gearbox. The 2019 year model used either a front or all-wheel-drivetrain, while the 2020 model is available in either rear or all-wheel drive. Unfortunately, because of its seven-person seating and standard dimensions, there’s only 18.2 cubic behind the furthest seats. There’s also the semi-electrified variation that comes equipped with a 3.3-liter hybridized V6. While hybridized automobiles are designed to have improved fuel efficiency figures, the Explorer’s electrified V6 is implemented for better off-the-line acceleration and optimized low-end output. Because of this, it can tow up to 5,000-pounds of braked weight, a competitive feat for the segment.
  • Expedition - With an extensive wheelbase of 122.5-inches, this full-size body-on-frame cruiser ships with a three-row seating arrangement fit for eight occupants. The trunk area still measures in at 20.9 cu.-ft. despite its commodious interior. Its 3.5L twin-turbo six-cylinder mill proves more than competent and avails it with a class-leading 9,300-lbs max tow capacity when in 2WD guise and only 100-lbs less when in 4WD. While seating may be a little cramped in the base variation, the Max takes things up a notch in both commuter and cargo room, thanks to its 9.1-inch longer wheelbase. The top-of-the-line trim also gets a dialed-up version of the six-cylinder to supply some additional gusto and help with the extra weight of the extended chassis. After its overhaul in 2018, this large sport-utility overtook many rivals in just about every way.
  • Mustang - A range of ‘Stangs fall under this banner, from the potent Bullitt to the venomous Shelby GT500, and the all-new Mach-E. Expected to debut sometime in 2021, this compact crossover SUV will arrive featuring either a 75.7 kWh or 98.8 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. With the 75.7 kWh unit, the EV is expected to deliver a driving range of around 230 miles on a single charge while the 98.8 kWh pack should extend that range to around 300 miles.
  • GT - Requiring an outlay of half a million dollars just to get behind the wheel, this twin-turbo V6-powered monster gives you 660 hp and 550 lb-ft to play with, which is enough to sprint to 60 mph in around three seconds. But, as the halo car from the Blue Oval and a sticker price to match, an exclusivity badge means few will be privileged enough to own one.
