Mini Cooper S Clubman - An Expanded Cooper

Reveal / Comments

The 2010 Mini Clubman expands on everything that's good about the Mini Cooper. A stretched wheelbase allows for a more comfortable backseat and roomier cargo area than the regular Mini, and the fun performance Minis are known for is still intact. Unfortunately, the Clubman has less room than almost every other compact wagon, and while it's a sharp handler and fun to drive, the ride may be a bit firm.

Acceleration is great with all the engines available, and handling is razor sharp. Under the hood, the base engine will produce 118 horsepower, while the Clubman S produces 172 horsepower. The exterior design of the Clubman is unique and slightly longer than the Mini Cooper. It has also traded in a rear hatch for side-swinging barn doors. The interior is a love/hate proposition. While it has a lot of character, that character doesn't carry-over into a lot of practicality. However, the Clubman is slightly larger than the Mini Cooper, which makes for some extra passenger and cargo space, though it isn't vast by any means.
