The Benz S350 Bluetec is Joining the Lineup for 2011

/ Comments

Mercedes-Benz has confirmed what we've been hoping to hear: the S400 hybrid won't remain the only fuel efficient vehicle of the S-Class family. The S350 Bluetect will be coming to the U.S. market for 2011 as the first diesel S-Class since the mid-90s. The S350 will use the same 3.5-liter turbodiesel V6 used in the ML, GL, and R-Class SUVs. The S350 will be able to at least match the 22 mpg results achieved with the S400 gas-electric earlier this year.

Performance is also expected to be excellent thanks to its exceptional torque as well. No word out yet on the pricing, but it is anticipated that it will be stickered at or below the S400's base price for 2010.
