Absolutely Mental Rolls-Royce Is For Sale Again

Car Culture / 2 Comments

And somehow it's road legal.

Nearly two years ago we first learned of this heavily modified 1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II that will no doubt greatly bother some brand enthusiasts. Too bad for them. Built by Corbin Goodwin, the young master mechanic/mad scientist who previously created the "Zero Fucks Given RX7", his follow-up was branded the Trolls-Royce. And now it's up for sale. Again.

It's listed on The Classic Car Gallery with an asking price of $19,900. The first time it went on the market was back in January 2018. It sold for $11,000 despite Goodwin's $20,000 investment in the project. Now we see why its current owner/seller is asking this new price.

As for this Frankenstein-like Rolls-Royce, it rides on 19-inch wheels courtesy of a Porsche Panamera, has a massive turbocharger, a Holley carburetor, and a custom exhaust system. In short, it's nothing at all like what it once was years ago. It's no longer a luxury car. No, it's meant to turn heads and annoy some people. Examples include the "God Save The E.U." intercooler and that wonderfully nuts rear-mounted radiator and roof-mounted cooler lines. There's also a 20-gallon fuel tank. Free tip: don't let this thing catch fire with people inside.

The interior is equally nuts, complete with an aircraft boost gauge, Sparco racing bucket seats, and a wild (is that a wooden voodoo doll??) shift lever.

Records indicate the car was originally sold by Beverly Hills Rolls-Royce in '79 and it previously spent its entire life in California and Las Vegas. Today, however, it's located in Connecticut and the dealership selling it claims it still runs just fine and produces good power and torque. So yeah, it's still street legal but somehow we predict it wouldn't pass a smog test in California. If you're willing to part with $20k in order to have something totally unique and offensive to some, then here's your answer.
