Buy Used Audi Models

At present, Audi only produces hatchbacks for markets outside of the USA. The Audi A3 Hatchback was the final model to be sold in the US and was proffered in two different versions before being discontinued. With the popularity of larger vehicles, such as SUVs and pickup trucks, soaring in the USA, it made sense for Audi to discontinue its hatchback models and focus on its more popular nameplates in the more successful classifications.

Although the A3 Sportback e-tron is more recent, the only true hatch was last produced for the 2013 model year in the States. Still, it’s worth a mention on this list as a few used models still make an excellent buy.

  • A3 Hatchback: This small two-door Audi hatch came equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, with an optional diesel power plant. Most trims in the lineup were fitted with a front-wheel-drivetrain as standard, with only the top-tier variant featuring the manufacturer’s now-venerable quattro all-wheel-drive system. It was offered with a decent selection of extras, including a Titanium Sport Package that personalizes the car with black exterior and interior accents and upgraded it with a variety of performance-centric equipment.
  • A3 Sportback e-tron: With a 204-horsepower turbo-four hybridized engine powering the front wheels, this compact 5-door hatch accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in a gradual 7.6 seconds. The e-tron electric components push torque up to an impressive 258 lb-ft, making for peppy and instantaneous responses. Claimed mileage figures come in at 34 mpg in gas-hybrid mode and 83 MPGe in pure-electric mode. It can also drive up to 16 miles on electrons alone, which is not very competitive considering what more modern hybrids and EVs manage. The lineup comprises five trim configurations but there is no option for an AWD setup.
