Ford Celebrates Pride Month In Style With Brightly Colored Bronco

The vivid graphics look absolutely delightful.

Pride month is in full swing across the United States. To celebrate the auspicious occasion, the Blue Oval has created a truly special Ford Bronco that honors the LGBTQ+ community. The brightly-colored SUV (known as Dash) is decked out in all the colors of the pride flag, with the rainbow flowing from the blunt front facia, all the way around the desirable off-roader. The eye-catching scheme is uplifted by a delightful sparkling gold finish on the rear quarters.

This teams rather nicely with the black rims and rugged-looking adornments which festoon this Wildtrak derivative. This isn't the first time the Dearborn-based company has created a wheeled tribute - previously, it introduced the Very Gay Raptor in response to hateful online comments.

Ford's Mike Levine, took to Twitter to express his excitement about the Bronco. Equally as thrilled is Ford Pride chair Bill Peters who remarked the off-roader is bold, tough, and "built for everyone." The pride-themed Bronco was used over the past weekend at the Memphis Pride Fest and will make several more appearances over the month, including the Detroit Motor City Pride parade on June 11-12 and an event at the Ann Arbor YMCA later in the month.

As the company notes, the reason behind the liveried Bronco is to highlight its commitment to inclusivity and honor its employees who identify as LGBTQ+. It also serves as the American counterpart to the aforementioned Very Gay Raptor, which was cleverly created in response to a homophobic Twitter response left under one of Ford's posts.

The Blue Oval isn't the only company to salute the LGBTQ+ community. Last year, Bentley commissioned a gorgeous one-off known as the Unifying Spur. Like the Bronco, Bentley adorned the luxury sedan with the rainbow flag but went a step further, with designer Rich Morris underlying strong messages through inspired design. For example, dancing figures found across the Bentley represent the "unifying power of humanity."

Not to be left out, BMW also festooned the 8 Series cabriolet with the pride flag in 2020 and continues to support the LGBTQ+ community with great initiatives, much like Ford does. Sadly, these projects often attract a lot of negative attention and hate, but we applaud automakers for supporting not only their marginalized employees but the community as a whole, too.
