2023 Honda CR-V Is Getting A Fancy New Interior

And it's borrowing it from one of its own siblings.

Honda wants everyone to get excited about its best-selling crossover. The 2023 Honda CR-V is coming soon, ushering in the nameplate's sixth generation since its 1995 debut. Thus far, the Japanese automaker has only teased us with the CR-V's exterior, hinting that this new model might be hybrid-only. Though the styling will get a bit more rugged, the new CR-V won't be a major departure from the outgoing model from the outside. The interior, though, is a different story.

In the lead-up to the July 12 reveal, Honda has just shown the first official image of the 2023 CR-V's interior. Aesthetically, it has quite a lot in common with the latest Civic.

Along with the image, Honda released the following statement:

"Sporty and modern. Fine Craftsmanship. Upscale touches. Even more space. America's best-selling SUV of the past quarter century is raising the stakes with a more premium, comfortable and high-tech interior that's perfect for daily life and fun weekend adventures. More details on the all-new 2023 CR-V will be revealed on July 12 as Honda continues the rollout of its 'Year of the SUV.'"

It may only be a single image, but it tells us a lot about the next-generation CR-V. Like the Civic, the CR-V gets the same honeycomb air vent covers, climate controls, CVT shifter, and available nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system (a seven-inch display will likely be the standard size) with Bose audio.

Oddly, the CR-V doesn't look like it will receive the same fully-digital instrument cluster from the Civic Touring, unless the model shown is not the fully-equipped version. Speaking of trim levels, this image clearly shows bronze stitching on the seats, steering wheel, and shifter. This could possibly hint at a rugged TrailSport model to sit below the Passport in Honda's lineup. With the 2023 model's styling clearly going in a more aggressive direction, we wouldn't be shocked to see an off-road-focused model, especially with Japanese rival Toyota recently revealing the RAV4 Hybrid Woodland Edition.
